This is the video to the song 'the pretender' by The Foo Fighters. The Foo Fighters are a rock band and this video clearly shows it as it conforms to all the stereotypes of what a rock video usually is. There are no costume changes as the band stay in the same location throughout the duration of the video. After doing some research into rock music video I noticed that this usually happens as the rock bands usually stay in one place playing an instrument, which in most cases is a guitar. The performance is also very typical of a rock video as the main artist seems to sing aggressively and uses the famous 'head banging' throughout the video.
It also has a theme of violence as there is a war between the band and an army, and at the end of the video we see the artist smash his guitar into the ground.
Video 2: I Need Your Love - Ellie Goulding Ft. Calvin Harris.
This is the video to 'I Need Your Love' by Ellie Goulding. This genre is pop and once again it conforms to the conventions of a typical pop video. Many pop songs are about love or have a romance theme to them and this particular video shows this as the artist travels around with her boyfriend, who is played by Calvin Harris. Throughout the video there are 5 costume changes by Ellie which isn't really a lot as we see a repetition of the base track and her other outfits don't vary much from each other. This video includes a lot of locations, 11 to be specific. I personally don't think that pop video usually have so many as this video but the reason for so many locations in this video is it is telling a story of a couple travelling to different places and therefore it shows many different locations. Some of the locations are quite typical of a pop video. For example there is one of people dancing in a club which is often used in pop video as it creates a fun atmosphere and is enjoyable for the audience to watch.
Video 3: Nicki Minaj - Super Bass
This is the music video to super bass by Nicki Minaj. This genre is RnB and this particular music video features many aspects of your average RnB video. The artists costumes throughout are very tight and show a lot of skin, it also features the main artist in a bikini at various points of the video. In this video Nicki Minaj has 4 different outfits. Once again this is due to the use of base tracks throughout, so the video returns to an outfit we have seen previously. The video also uses many props which are typical of an RnB video. For example it shows expensive cars in two of the scenes which is seen in many RnB video, also a swimming pool which is also often shown in RnB videos. The video also contains many dance routines which is also a big feature in many videos of the genre.
