ANCILLARY RESEARCH: Analysis of Previous Student Digi Pak and Advertisement

We were asked to analyse some previous student work in order to get better acquainted with what type of work we would be expected top produce. 


This is an advertisement made by previous students to go with their digipak. This advertisement is very good because it links perfectly with the digipak. The colour scheme is exactly the same as well as the advertisement actually including the CD cover itself in the center. Also, the font of the advertisement is not the same as the font used in the digipak, however because the colour scheme is the same, they are both linked in with each other. 

On the left is the front and back cover of the digipak. I thought this digipak was extremely good because of the quality of the photograph used. It seems to be for an electronic genre which makes this photograph perfect. Often we see photographs like this on CD covers belonging to artists like Will.I.Am and artists like that. This photograph was very well thought of and the fact that the font is quite an electronic fonts fits perfectly with the genre of the album. On the right is the inside of the digipak. This person's use of colour follows throughout and would again pull in the fans as it all combines to create one brand image. The use of photoshop is very good and this person knew exactly what they wanted their cover to look like. The black background creates a sense of mystery and also goes with the black and white theme of the image.

The only thing about this digipak that could have been improved would be the fact that the main image on the album cover is black and white and the only other picture shown on the digipak is in colour. If the other picture was also in black and white it could have been better as the colour scheme would have stayed consistent.
