How it Influenced:
Setting and Location: This previous student music video influenced are setting and location because all of the base tracks used in the video are Urban locations. As a group we wanted are music video to have an urban pop feel to it, so we analyzed this video to see how urban locations look in music videos. Personally I think that the locations used in the video was effective since the video was also filmed at night.Editing: At the beginning of the video, they have used a number of jump cuts of the artistes face and upper torso. When edited together it helps draw the audiences attention to the artist. We will be using this in our music video. Also the slow motion used throughout the video has be done well because they have managed to keep the words lip synced whilst the artist has been slowed down. As a group we have been researching how to do this, so we can use it.
Camera: We will be using many shot types which have been used in the video above. Close ups, mid shots, wide shots, high and low angles will all be used. Also we will be tracking our artist to minimize the amount of static camera work.
How it Influenced:
Setting and Location: This video influenced our setting and locations as well as costume and make up. As you can see it has been filmed in a very urban area which is what we were planning to do, therefore it was once again vital we looked at how other artist have done it in their music videos. Also we looked at Rita Ora for the way she dresses and wear her make up. We though her image will suit ''Karma'' very well.
Camera and editing was also influence by this video. Many shot types throughout the video we will be incorporating into our own video, for example the way the video starts out with the shots of her walking. Also the jump shots are very effective. We will be our video beginning in a similar way.
How it Influenced:
This video purely influence our second location which is Southbank. When analysing this video, we liked the idea of Adele walking to the side of the river bank whilst singing into the camera. We though we could use this idea and make it ours. However we are going to develop it so it will suit our music genre more accurately. First of all our music video will not be in black and white, and it will not be shot as slow as the original, mainly because our song is not as slow as ''Like You''.
Our song also has a lot more energy to it so when we picked Southbank we realised that there are going to be many more people using the bank. This wasn't a problem because we decided that our artist Karma will be interacting with a few people a long the bank. This will suit our video better because in a way it matches the energy behind the performance. As far as shot types go, we will be using a lot more camera shots than what has been used in someone like you. Having said that, the main tracking shot in that video will be used in our music video.
